ASC Signal Corporation has been awarded a contract by Kuwait-based Al-Rashed Holdings to provide gateway satellite antennae and equipment for Kuwait’s Ministry of Information. The equipment will be used for the distribution of TV and radio content across the Middle East and Africa.

Under the agreement, ASC Signal will provide transmit and receive Earth stations to access Nilesat and Arabsat satellites.

The Ku- and DBS-band antennae include interchangeable feed systems that will allow the Ministry of Information to use the same antenna at different frequency bands depending on the programme. This new equipment will allow the ministry to deliver content from its facilities in Kuwait City.

Al-Rashad will also provide ASC Signal’s Next Generation Controller (NGC), which will give users a single central device to control and operate multiple antenna systems. Other features of the NGC include remote access and tracking as well as an internal spectrum analyser.
