Batelco and Ericsson have once again partnered to deliver world class technology for Batelco’s customers. The two partners have teamed up to deploy Ericsson’s state-of-the-art 4G LTE Radio Dot System solutions in Bahrain.
Ericsson’s Radio Dot System is a solution designed to improve mobile network performance inside large buildings. Quick and easy to install, this small cell solution is designed to deliver an enhanced user experience for both voice and data.
Batelco has already launched its first commercial deployment and begun to roll out the solution to its major customers, making Batelco not only the first communications provider in Bahrain to offer the 4G service but also the first 4G Dot solution in the Middle East. The programme, which is designed to meet the growing customer demand for increasingly powerful mobile services, is part of Batelco’s ongoing strategy to enhance its solutions for business customers and keep them on par with the highest international standards.
The Ericsson Radio Dot System fully integrates with Batelco’s networks to provide seamless indoor coverage for Batelco’s customers, particularly for large organizations such as hotels, shopping malls and for office enterprise customers.
Batelco CEO, Muna Al Hashemi, says: “The Radio Dot solution ensures consistent delivery of high performance in-building voice and data services and will meet the needs of customers who experience issues with mobile coverage particularly in larger buildings. We are excited to work with Ericsson to make this Middle East-first deployment a reality.”
Ericsson Region Middle East and East Africa President Rafiah Ibrahim said: “Ericsson’s Radio Dot System is designed to improve mobile network performance inside buildings. It introduces a revolutionary antenna element that is quick and easy to install. This innovative solution is a game-changer that delivers the high performance standards to consumers and the enterprise market, which is vital to provide the superior customer experience that Batelco is seeking”.
The Radio Dot’s iconic small cell is designed to fit in any environment and the advantages it delivers have already been proven around the world. In Radio Dot System deployments, mobile data throughput has improved by up to 5 times, dropped calls have been reduced to zero, and installation times are as low as 4 minutes per Dot. The Radio Dot System has also been designed to consume less power, as well as reduce device power consumption, compared to traditional indoor solutions.
Mrs. Al Hashemi concluded by saying that Batelco will continue with the rollout of new enhancements on their network to ensure better customer experience.
