GBI joins AMS-IX partner programme

Amr Eid, CCO of GBI, right and Onno Bos, Sales Director, Ams-IX cement partnershipGBI has joined the Amsterdam Internet Exchange (AMS-IX), one of the largest peering platforms in the world. As part of the AMS-IX Partner Programme, GBI has become an official reseller of AMS-IX.

On the occasion of the agreement, Amr Eid, Chief Commercial Officer of GBI, said: “Joining the AMS-IX Partner Program allows us to provide more enhanced capabilities to our customers in the Middle East region who are seeking efficient interconnectivity options and better network infrastructure expansion.’’

Mark Cooper, CCO of AMS-IX said: “We are very happy that one of the largest network operators in the Middle East has joined our Partner Program.” Cooper added: “With their large and robust network that connects Europe with most of the Middle East, GBI can offer its customers high-quality access to AMS-IX and at the same time help us to increase the diversity and size of our ecosystem.”

By joining the AMS-IX Partner Program, GBI is certified to offer the AMS-IX service remotely and provide its customers with increased peering benefits. AMS-IX offers a peering community of more than 750 parties from 70 countries, which is the most international mix of connected networks present at an Internet Exchange.

The partnership will provide better connectivity and diversity of offerings in the Middle East – a region where the demand for bandwidth is predicted to grow exponentially in the near future.
