Mauritanian bouquet launched on Arabsat satellites

The Mauritanian prime minister Dr. Mawlay Weld Mohamed Al-Agdhaf  inaugurated the Mauritanian bouquet to be broadcast from the Nouakchott platform for satellite broadcasting on the Arabsat satellites (Badr – 5),  26° degrees East

HE Hamdi Ould Mahgoub, the Saudi minister of communications and parliamentary relations, said that the inauguration is the beginning of a historic endeavour to upgrade the level of the media in Mauritania. In addition, the minister added that the launch of the new service will enable Arabsat to gather governmental and private Mauritanian channels  on one bouquet, so that the viewers in Mauritania and the Arab world will be able to watch this bouquet on one frequency in all parts of the Middle East , North Africa and large parts of Europe and Asia.

The launch of the new bouquet comes as part of the efforts exerted by the Ministry of Telecommunications and the relationship with the Mauritanian parliament towards developing the infrastructure of the satellite broadcast sector in Mauritania.

Khalid bin Ahmed Balkheyour president & CEO of Arabsat, expressed his pleasure on this occasion and said, “The launch of the Mauritanian bouquet has come about as a result of joint cooperation with the Ministry of Telecommunications and  relationship with the parliament in Mauritania. As per the agreement, Arabsat built a digital satellite broadcast platform in Nouakchott, hoping that such cooperation  develops further.”
