VT iDirect, Inc. (iDirect), a company of VT Systems, Inc. (VT Systems), announced that OmniAccess S.L., a communications provider to super- and mega-yacht owners, has deployed a new iDirect Series 15100 Universal satellite hub to complete its global maritime satellite network.

Through its multi-hub iDirect satellite network, OmniAccess’ customers can now reportedly access these types of applications from anywhere in the world without having to change satellite service providers or plans, which is a key competitive advantage for the growing company

With the addition of the new hub, OmniAccess has expanded its coverage area to ensure that its customers maintain connectivity for high-bandwidth applications wherever they travel. iDirect is a world leader in satellite-based IP communications technology.

Yacht owners require uninterrupted high-speed connectivity for a variety of next-generation applications including high-definition video conferencing, streaming HDTV channels, corporate VPN access and high-quality voice calls. Through its multi-hub iDirect satellite network, OmniAccess’ customers can now reportedly access these types of applications from anywhere in the world without having to change satellite service providers or plans, which is a key competitive advantage for the growing company.

OmniAccess chose to deploy another iDirect hub not only to expand its coverage, but also, the company claims, to take advantage of iDirect’s sophisticated mobility solutions and leading position in the maritime market. With advanced technology, the company spokesman stated, such as Automatic Beam Selection (ABS), for seamless connectivity between coverage areas, and Adaptive Coding and Modulation (ACM), for maximum uptime during inclement weather, iDirect enables OmniAccess to provide customers with seamless Broadbeam Ultra connectivity at sea with speeds of up to 30 mbps.

“Thanks to the scalability of the iDirect platform and the dedicated efforts of iDirect’s technical services and support staff, we were able to establish a global satellite network in only 18 months. For a growing company like ours, this quick growth has been instrumental to our success. Moreover, because two of the three hubs we have deployed were completely installed by iDirect remotely, there has been minimal impact to our operations,” stated Bertrand Hartman, CEO, OmniAccess

“With its third iDirect hub, OmniAccess has expanded its operations and enhanced its competitiveness in a market where always-on connectivity is absolutely critical. The iDirect platform is the system of choice for both maritime service providers and end users and we’re happy to strengthen our position in this important vertical through our ongoing relationship with OmniAccess,” stated Stephen Tunnicliffe, regional vice president, Europe, iDirect
