VT iDirect, Inc. (iDirect), will make presentations on two key topics that represent opportunities for growth in the VSAT industry: emerging high-throughput satellites and small cell technology for the mobile backhaul market at the Comsys VSAT2012 conference, from September 11-14 at the Lancaster London Hotel in London, UK.

iDirect’s chief technology officer and senior vice president of engineering, David Bettinger, will be a keynote speaker at the event on the emerging role of new high-throughput satellites and Ka-band frequencies, one of the key focus areas for this year’s event. Dave will discuss why flexibility is critical for the ground segment infrastructure to be compatible with new satellite architectures while also adapting to the needs of a wide spectrum of end users.

Richard Deasington, iDirect’s director of market development, will co-present on mobile backhaul with Malek Shahid, senior strategist, Wireless at Alcatel Lucent. Deasington and Shahid will discuss how new advances in small cell technology are contributing to significant growth opportunities for mobile operators to expand into remote and rural markets.

“Comsys continues to be one of our industry’s most valuable events, bringing together insights and perspectives from leading satellite experts and organisations. iDirect is pleased to again have the opportunity to contribute, leveraging the knowledge and experience we’ve gained through close collaboration with several HTS operators along with our service provider partners in diverse markets across the globe,” commented David Bettinger, CTO and senior VP of engineering
